Kurt and Cathy Purucker have each taken the challenge to “go into all the world with the Gospel” seriously for much of their lives. This desire was one of the things that drew them to each other and has been integrated into their daily lives throughout their 30 years of marriage.

A love of drama drew each of them to be involved in a full-time touring drama ministry. They spent 37 years each involved with Covenant Players. In December of 1991 they got married, and Japan has been part of their ministry area since. As of June 2021, they retired from that ministry, and have been in a season of preparation for further missions in Japan.

Expressing their love for God by loving and serving others is the core of what motivates them. That willingness to help others wherever and whenever they can has been evident in their ministry career, where they were elevated into strong support positions by the leadership, and by serving in whatever fashion was needed in the moment while in the mission field. This attitude has led them to form H.E.L.P.S., Hands Extended in Loving, Personal Service. While waiting for the green light to return to Japan, they have been serving their local community by helping people in many ways, from personal care to assisting in home care tasks.

A new season of ministry is beginning, with a focus on serving in Japan.
